and he -
he sat
his back away from her
his eyes cast down into eternity
he could not bear to look
their hearts were open books
and she -
she stood
her back away from him
her eyes cast up into eternity
he knew his life before had stopped – had come to final rest
his head held captive ‘tween her creamy breasts
and he
he succumbed to his longing heart as he sat there
her fingers wandering through his thick thick hair
and she –
she smiled
her eyes cast up into eternity

Remind me from time to time, dear Jenean, never to go near Delaware - I would be afraid of losing my head - if I have one of course.
Beautiful poem.
oh, roger! thank you for such kind words! but i must warn you, my memory is very poor! ;)
you are the queen of romance...
oh, how great to see you, shadow lady - and thank you for leaving such kind words - actually, as a point of interest [or not], this particular little scene is a true story kind of thing - actually having happened a few years ago and i was thinking of it and of the other person the other day when i jotted this down here - so, even more special to me - and so glad you enjoyed!;)
and i see you cause i can.. while those eyes cast up into eternity

Absolutely lovely.
You are indeed the QUEEN of romance! Your words keep drawing me back to a place where I can just lose myself.
