we knew
our time was
stolen time
stolen minutes
stolen hours
stolen
moments picked
one by one
hand selected
all else neglected
moments bartered
with the gods
give us this moment
just one moment and
forgive us our trespasses
as we trespass
but please
give us this moment
just one moment
before the door of
transgressions blows open
exposing our inequities
our naked souls
our breaking hearts
and forgive us
forgive us
forgive
our

Ah, those mixed feelings tend to pull us every which way.
I'm back home, Jenean! And ready to pounce on your blogs with comments that will be funny, or sarcastic, or sweet... and most often meaningless of course.
C'que j'cause, là, te demande pass ! J'saurions point moé-même... Pis chu un peu sauté...
I do hope that you do not try any translator on the previous paragraph. I swear that you will get nothing that you can understand, nothing whatsoever. It's written in gutter French from Québec, even people from France would have a lotta trouble! No really, it takes a Québécois to read that one... he he he...
You know what? I am hilariously funny this morning. You think not? Hmm... maybe you're right...
I should begin to comment in my usual fashion in the next few days. Right now I'm still shovelling snow, had to use the snow blower to get in the house the other day, ain't that funny? :-)))
About your beautiful poem here, i am not forgiving you anything!
My, I told you, I'm not sure of who I am right now, not even that!
Smile, and a kiss.
Roger From Up There
you're so right, lake! pulled and torn and twisted at the same time! but delicious nonetheless! ;) thanks so much for coming over - love your company!
well, man from UP there, wonderful to see you again - so go ahead and pounce all over my posts [you're behind a few, you know!;)] - your comments are always welcome no matter their nature - funny sarcastic or sweet or all of the above and/or meaningless - cause you know i can take the heat, right? ;)
so sorry you were out blowing snow just to get in upon your return - most of the white stuff is gone here now except for the huge mounds of it at every street corner - so now everything is covered in melted snow-water - but, when i drove down to the beach/marshlands the other day, the sounds of the birds filled my car so spring cannot be too far away - and yesterday when i went out i had all the windows down and the sun roof open - marvelous!!!
'tis ok that you're not forgiving me in terms of my little words here - the holy waters are boiling still -
well, go forth and get settled in from your long journey - and hurry back in your usual rare form -
till then - have a glorious day!
